Rev. Rod Zwonitzer discusses the office of pastor and evangelism and how they are misunderstood by the church growth movement.
At 12:05, Pastor Wilken asks Pastor Zwonitzer to evaluate the pastor as CEO. Pastor Zwonitzer’s response is that it is unbiblical. “A CEO is primarily an organizer and administrator. And I see no role that would be equitable with that in the Bible.”
At 36:50, Pastor Zwonitzer compares the models of pastor as leader versus pastor as shepherd. He discusses what to do when the Biblical model doesn’t seem to be working and we are frustrated. Do we continue to be faithful to the Lord’s model and his role for the pastor, or do we change? Church growth says to change.
